erm, sorry for the late reply! recently everyone also going hong kong wan! and i think the period yuu're there, shook ye will be there too!
hotel, i have no idea what hotel is good as i followed tour. but when we extend our stay, we stayed in Mongkok (aka Wong Kok) as it was more convenient, i think. can't really remember.
one place i like the most there is Cheung Zhau! It's a quaint little island. Nothing really great about that place but I like the clean environment and fresh air. And steamboat at the road side near the pier! And just cycling around. Haha.
I can't remember what else more is good because it was like 7 years ago i went there. ^^;;
maybe try googling and read ppl's blogs for review and recommendation?
5 days in hong kong, 2 days in macau.. 2 days in shenzhen.. haha.. I'm jus crapping.. I went to Hong Kong even before 1997.. lolz..

jess : thanx. yeah we are planning to go cheung zhau. Its kinda sad that the internet didn't give me much information. I mean i find touring Europe much easier as i can get lots of information just by surfing the net.

there's one very famous chee cheung fun called "B zhai cheung fun" but I can't remember where is it.

haha thx but i leave it to my mom now since she've contacted her sis(my aunt).
most likely both of them will stay in hotel n i'll stay in my cousin's....
food is definately a most....
